**11 June 2021** — In 2021, World IA Day partnered with [Optimal Workshop](https://www.optimalworkshop.com/) to conduct comprehensive research documenting the state of information architecture practice, examining who was practicing IA, what work they were doing, and how they understood the future of the field.

At the same time, this research will document the state of the practice and field of information architecture in 2021 and provide a snapshot for future research, development, and understanding of information architecture.
