9 Nov 2024: Andrea Resmini to be Global Keynote Speaker for World Information Architecture Day 2025
November 9, 2024 — The World Information Architecture Association is pleased to announce Andrea Resmini as the global keynote speaker for World Information Architecture Day (WIAD25) taking place on March 8, 2025. The theme of WIAD25 is “Challenging Changes: Adapting Information in an Evolving World,” and Resmini will share his perspective on the history and future of information architecture (IA) in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Resmini, an accomplished academic and practitioner in IA, has a distinguished career marked by impactful contributions to the field. He was a key figure in the establishment of World IA Day 13 years ago and continues to be a respected voice in the IA community. He will draw upon his extensive experience and insights to address the evolving challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and the increasing integration of digital information within physical spaces.
About Andrea Resmini
Andrea Resmini is associate professor of experience design and information architecture in the Department of Intelligent Systems and Digital Design at Halmstad University, where he works with the conceptualization and design of blended spaces and blended experiences and researches exploratory and speculative tabletop game making. An architect turned information architect turned educator, Andrea is a two-time past president of the Information Architecture Institute, a founding member of Architecta, the Italian Society for Information Architecture, a co-founder of the World IA Day international conference, the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Information Architecture, and the author of Pervasive Information Architecture (2011), Reframing Information Architecture (2014), and Advances in Information Architecture (2021). A Glimpse into the Keynote
Resmini’s keynote will offer attendees a unique exploration of IA through the decades, highlighting pivotal moments that shaped the discipline. World IA Day is an annual event held in early March, where local communities around the world organize events to celebrate and raise awareness of the crucial role of IA in our respective disciplines. Since 2021, the World IA Association has introduced a global keynote speaker to provide a shared platform for discussion and inspiration within the IA community.
