Issue #30: September 2024
Hello, IA enthusiasts!
In the past few months, the global board at the World Information Architecture Association (WIAA) have been working on a few things:
World IA Day 2025 theme: Challenges of Change
World IA Day 2025 theme is "Challenges of Change: Adapting Information Architecture for an Evolving World.” Change is constant and rapid, much like the field of information architecture. In today's ever-changing environment, we are continually faced with new challenges that require innovative solutions.
How can we make use of the fundamentals of information architecture to help innovate and develop new approaches to navigating our field? Whether it's new design methodologies, emerging technologies, or AI, we want to hear from you!
Xander Roozen is the new Co-President of World IA Association
We are pleased to share that Xander Roozen is the new co-president joining Grace Lau. Ghada Kandil will also be joining as co-president-elect.
Xander's vision and experience align closely with the immediate needs of the role and the strategic role that Andrea had taken in the past four years. We believe he will provide insight and direction needed to take WIAA to the next level. Meanwhile, Ghada's clear vision for the future of WIAA, her focus on inclusivity and representation, and her dedication to greater diversity will be crucial in transforming WIAA into a more global community organization.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who applied and provided feedback during the selection process. Your time and input are greatly appreciated.
More detailed announcements about next year’s theme for World IA Day will be shared in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your patience!
~Grace Lau Co-president, WIAA
