# People

Our community is powered by passionate practitioners and educators worldwide - from board members providing strategic leadership to local organizers bringing World IA Day to their cities, to speakers sharing their expertise at our events.

### Global board

The WIAA Global Board provides strategic leadership and governance for the association. Our board members are experienced practitioners who volunteer their time to guide WIAA's mission and ensure we serve the global IA community effectively.

### World IA Day organizers

World IA Day wouldn't exist without our dedicated local organizers who bring the celebration to cities around the world. Over the past 14+ years, organizers in 60+ locations have created meaningful experiences for their local IA communities, from intimate gatherings in coffee shops to large-scale events in university auditoriums.

> "World IA Day has been a very successful event in our area for many years. I frequently get questions as to when the next year's event will take place and when the call for speakers will go out."\
> — Carrianne Tuckley, WIAD22 Akron
