# Privacy policy

World IA Association believes in protecting personal information whenever necessary.

We also aim to connect our network of people together for the benefit of all and strives to do so while respecting personal privacy and confidential information.

World IA Day collects personally identifiable information for a number of reasons, including but not limited to volunteer recruitment and general correspondence. When this voluntary information is provided, it should be assumed that:

* Volunteer information may be shared with other volunteers
* All information may be reviewed by the Board of Directors

Participation in surveys is voluntary, and the information received will not be shared in any way that could identify the participants.

World IA Day does not sell or share personally identifiable information in any way that is not covered in this policy. If there is a change to this policy that will affect how we handle personal information, the affected individuals will be notified via email.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.information-architecture.world/policies/privacy-policy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
