# Speaking opportunities

Share your information architecture expertise with a global community. WIAA offers multiple speaking opportunities throughout the year for practitioners, researchers, and educators to present their work, share insights, and connect with fellow IA professionals.

## World Information Architecture Day

Our annual global celebration brings together the IA community in [dozens of cities](/worldiaday/locations.md) worldwide each March. Each local WIAD event is independently run and operated by local volunteers passionate about information architecture in their communities.&#x20;

If you're interested in speaking at the next World IA Day, we can connect you to the nearest active organizer. Contact the **global executive producer** at [**producer@worldiaday.org**](mailto:producer@worldiaday.org)&#x20;

## World IA Cafe

Regular virtual seminars featuring talks on various topics relating to theoretic and applied information architecture. These online events provide accessible learning opportunities for professionals at all career stages.

These Café events take place monthly with a brief hiatus in July, August, and December-March. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis; speakers are typically scheduled 2–3 months in advance, with a few weeks' wait for a response. ## Taxonomy Talk

Join our Discord community and speaker series exploring real-world taxonomy implementations, best practices, and emerging trends in knowledge management and classification systems.

Talks at Taxonomy Talk take place about once a quarter, or whenever convenient. Talks are 20-minute long presentations with 15 mins for questions. Questions can be directed to the **community mod team** at <TaxonomyTalk@worldiaday.org>

**Let's grow communities together.**

Whether you're a seasoned conference presenter or considering your first talk, WIAA events provide supportive environments for sharing knowledge. We value practical insights and real-world experiences as much as research and theory.

The IA community benefits from hearing diverse voices and perspectives. We encourage speakers from all backgrounds, career stages, and areas of IA practice to share their stories.<br>
