Submission guidelines for "What is Information Architecture?"
The field of information architecture thrives on diverse viewpoints and real-world experiences. We invite you to share your perspective on what IA means, how it works, and where it's heading.
What we're looking for
Definitions and explanations - How do you define IA? What metaphors or examples help you explain it to others?
Practice stories - Case studies from your work, challenges you've solved, or lessons learned from projects that didn't go as planned.
Visual perspectives - Diagrams, sketches, or other visual ways of explaining IA concepts.
Theoretical insights - How you apply specific methodologies, connections you see with other fields, or emerging approaches you're developing.
Technology and trends - How IA principles apply to new technologies, cross-platform challenges, or predictions about the field's future.
Learning and growth - Resources that shaped your understanding, advice for newcomers, or reflections on how the field has evolved.
Formats we accept
Share your submission in whatever format works best for you.
Written pieces (200-1500 words)
Visual content (diagrams, infographics, sketches)
Video submissions (5-15 minutes recommended)
Document uploads (presentations, PDFs, case studies)
Links to existing content (articles, videos, portfolios)
Attribution: Include your name, title, and organization (or indicate if you prefer to remain anonymous).
Tone: Write as you would speak to a colleague. Personal experiences and honest reflections are more valuable than polished academic papers.

Email your contribution to [[email protected]] with "IA Perspective" in the subject line. Include a brief bio and let us know how you'd like to be credited.
We review submissions on a rolling basis and will contact you when your piece is published.
