# Audience and the day-of experience

Attendees are part of the World IA Day community. Design their experience with the same care you give speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.

Consider the full attendee journey. Make it easy to discover the event, register, arrive, participate, and stay connected afterwards.

### Before the event

Give people the information they need to decide and prepare:

* Publish clear event, registration, venue, and access details.
* Ask only for data you need and explain how you will use it.
* Provide a clear way to request accommodations or share access needs.

Use [Preparing for event registration](/wiad-organizer-guide/audience-and-the-day-of-experience/preparing-for-event-registration.md) and [Collecting attendee data](/wiad-organizer-guide/audience-and-the-day-of-experience/collecting-attendee-data.md) to plan registration.

### During the event

Help attendees feel informed, welcome, and able to participate:

* Make arrival, check-in, schedules, and wayfinding clear.
* Plan accessible seating, breaks, food, and participation options.
* Assign volunteers who can answer questions and resolve issues quickly.

Review [Evaluating venue accessibility](/wiad-organizer-guide/event-venue/venue-ease-of-access.md) before confirming an in-person venue.

### After the event

Extend the value of the celebration:

* Thank attendees, presenters, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.
* Share recordings, slides, photos, and key takeaways.
* Collect feedback and record lessons for next year’s team.

Use [Preparing global giveaways](/wiad-organizer-guide/audience-and-the-day-of-experience/preparing-global-give-a-ways.md) when planning attendee materials.
