# Types of sponsorship

Sponsors can support your local WIAD event with money, products, or services. Agree the value and expectations before accepting support.

### Financial sponsorship

A financial sponsor provides money toward your event. Use these funds for agreed local event costs.

Record the amount, payment date, any restrictions, and agreed sponsor recognition. Do not count a pledge as available funds until it is confirmed.

### In-kind sponsorship

An in-kind sponsor provides a product or service instead of money. Record its fair value in your budget.

Examples include venue space, A/V equipment, accessibility services, printing, catering, software, or attendee prizes. Confirm who delivers the contribution and when.

### Agree on sponsor benefits

Explain the recognition you will provide before a sponsor commits. Benefits might include a logo on event materials, a thank-you in event communications, or a brief acknowledgement during the event.

Keep benefits proportionate to the contribution and appropriate for your community. Do not promise attendee personal data or imply that World IA Day endorses a sponsor’s products or services.

Document the agreement in writing. Include the contribution, value, sponsor benefits, deadlines, and contact people.
