World IA Cafe is our monthly discussion series that brings together information architecture professionals from around the globe for informal conversations about IA topics, challenges, and innovations. We're looking for volunteers to help us maximize the impact of these valuable discussions and reach a broader international audience.
Current volunteer opportunities
Help transform our rich video discussions into discoverable, accessible content.
Use AI tools like NotebookLM to create summaries and key takeaways from Cafe video recordings
Write video descriptions with proper metadata and keywords for better searchability
Optimize video titles, tags, and descriptions across Vimeo and YouTube platforms
Create timestamp markers for key discussion points and topics
Organize video content in our searchable digital library
4-6 hours per month (flexible scheduling)
Expand our international reach and boost participation in monthly Cafe sessions.
Create engaging social media posts to promote upcoming Cafe sessions and speakers
Develop content calendars specifically for Cafe event promotion
Share video highlights and key quotes from past discussions
Connect with international IA communities to increase global participation
Track engagement metrics and audience growth for Cafe-related content
3-4 hours per month (flexible scheduling)
Skills we're looking for
Helpful but not required:
Interest in information architecture, UX, or related fields
Basic writing and communication skills
Social media familiarity
Video editing or content creation experience
We'll teach you everything else! Our volunteer training covers:
Video optimization and metadata best practices
Content management systems and tools
Social media strategy and analytics
Writing for web and professional audiences
